Forget-me-Not Chorus
An inspiring project was officially launched this week at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff when theForget-me-Not Chorus introduced us to the work being undertaken by a small team who are using the power of song to support families affected by dementia.
The group started life in the Autumn of 2010 as a Welsh National Opera community project working with Cardiff and the Vale Alzheimer's Society.
The choir proved such a success for sufferers and their carers that the founders, Kate Woolveridge and Sarah Teagle (our grandaughter) decided to keep the chorus of about forty members, going as an independent charity.
It is fantastic therapy for people with dementia and a happy relief for their carers. The chorus meet once a week at Bethany Baptist Church in Rhiwbina.
The event was so successful that those who attended will long remember it and be looking forward to the next concert later in the season.
